There is much to be celebrated by the partnership created between schools and the University of Gloucestershire. Many of our newly qualified teachers have gone on to posts within Gloucestershire schools and partnership schools in neighbouring counties. The management of the course, writing of course materials, and the interviewing of potential course members are all undertaken by representatives of both partners.
Training to be a secondary school teacher through the Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Partnership (GITEP) illustrates the benefits to be gained from working with professional orgnaisations and expert practitioners. The scheme has been widely acclaimed, receiving considerable interest both nationally and internationally.
